If you’ve ever bought anything online, you’re probably already very aware that pretty much everything has a review attached to it.  But how important are those reviews, anyway?  And as an author, do you really need them?  In this workshop, Craig Tuch from HiddenGemsBooks will talk all about book reviews, covering such topics as:

  • Do reviews even matter, and why?
  • Negative reviews – should you care, and what to do when you get them?
  • Techniques to help maximize your reviews and improve your chances of getting good ones
  • Whether you should use a service to help get reviews, or build your own ARC team
  • Common issues, pitfalls and rules to watch out for
  • Best Practices

At the end, Craig will be happy to take any questions you may have about book reviews.

About Craig Tuch

Craig Tuch of Hidden Gems

Craig Tuch has always been a writer at heart, but only started thinking about it as a career after years of miserably climbing the corporate ladder. After trying to both write and hold down a day job for a while, he finally made the scary choice to drop the steady paycheck in favor of unreliable royalty checks – and it turned out to be the best decision he ever made.

Craig’s foray into writing occurred just as independent publishing was beginning to really take root, and he was lucky enough to become part of a large online group of like-minded authors. Together, they experimented and shared their knowledge on everything to do with their craft, from writing and cover design, to marketing and advertising, helping each other grow and succeed in the new and ever-changing landscape of self-publishing.

From his time spent with those authors, as well as the years spent as part of the writing community as a whole, Craig learned a lot about the difficulties that independent authors have in promoting, marketing and improving their work.  He started Hidden Gems as a way to help the community navigate those challenges, by sharing his knowledge and providing quality services to authors that allow them to spend more time writing their books and less time worrying about all the other stuff.
